Art with Heart is a nonprofit organization that creates and distributes therapeutic books that promote mental health and well-being. Their age-appropriate books help high risk children, as well as children who have experienced traumatic life events. Proceeds benefit Art with Heart's programs that help under-served youth.

The Office of the Education Ombudsman (OEO) resolves disputes, and problems between families and public schools in areas that affect student learning. We help refugee and immigrant families navigate our public school system and support their children in the public schools. Services are free, confidential and available to general and special education students in Kindergarten to 12th grade. |

Welcoming Schools is a system-wide program, approach and tool kit for elementary school professionals that includes resources to embrace family diversity, avoid gender stereotyping and end bullying & name calling. Professionals who work with elementary age youth understand the importance of creating an environment where students know that they and their families are valued. Welcoming Schools is the only resource of its kind that is LGBT inclusive.

The Refugee Project: Walk in My Shoes is a 3 hr. simulation education program about refugees, giving participants a powerful experiential learning experience. Excellent resource for teachers (either for their classrooms or staff training), gov't and non-profit agencies as training tool for staff or volunteers. The 3 hr. fee-based program is generally conducted in the Int'l District.

The Youth Suicide Prevention Program is a statewide nonprofit that focuses on reducing the rates of youth in Washington State. OUTLoud is a project of YSPP that focuses on LGBTQ youth and their risk and the links bullying has with negative mental health outcomes. We do this through public education. |
