School's Out Washington administers grants that allow programs to increase access, enhance their facilities, improve program quality, purchase new curricula and supplies, provide staff training and start or expand services. Through these grants, we provide resources to programs and communities while emphasizing the importance of increasing program staff's knowledge and competencies to work towards improved program quality. Many of our funding opportunities are linked to specific training or technical assistance to ensure that funded programs have long-lasting impacts.
Through our advocacy and collaborative work, we also pursue ways to get more private and public dollars invested in afterschool and youth development programs. We have built significant relationships with state and local level government agencies as well as private foundations. These relationships have allowed us to conduct research and field development projects to strengthen afterschool and youth development work in our state.
