Renew Your Acquaintance with Sherrie Belt
by School's Out Washington | | Posted under
Long-time friends of School’s Out Washington may remember Sherrie Belt. Well… she’s back! After a few years working for our friends at Kids Co., she’s back at SOWA as our Quality Field Services Manager, the woman in charge of our cadre of coaches and trainers.
While Sherrie isn’t completely a “new” staff person, we’ve been making these new staff intro blog posts for too long to give up now. Old friends, let’s renew our acquaintance. New friends, let’s get to know her for the first time!
Where are you from?
I was born and raised right here in Seattle, WA. Specifically, 98118, the most diverse neighborhood in the entire country. I pride myself in always living and working in my community.
What do you like to do in your own time?
Family, Food, and Football pretty much sums up my life outside of work. I enjoy spending time with my minions (Alex, Jaylen and Nyah) who keep me busy with Legos and Minecraft, dance contests and makeup tutorials. I am a bit of a foodie, so I spend a good deal of time gardening, cooking, and trying new recipes. It is not uncommon to find me shopping for new spices and posting pictures of my creations on social media. And then there is football. A small confession, I am extremely competitive and enjoy most sports. However, football season is one of the most important holiday seasons in my home. You can catch me wearing Hawks gear year round and ungluing myself from my Seahawks App for update’s during the draft, even if I don’t retain pertinent information once it is over. I am just shy of obsessed. My cubicle may or may not be adorned with Seahawks memorabilia. (EDITOR’S NOTE: It is.)
What brought you to SOWA?
SOWA is my second home and an organization that I have either worked for or supported (in some capacity) since my early days in the field. Having been involved in the Youth Program Quality Initiative in Washington since the beginning, I was delighted to come back and support the work as the Quality Field Services Manager.
Tell us one thing that you are proud of.
I am most proud of the people my children are growing into. I have birthed three precocious children and I look forward to witnessing their contributions to the world. They are my three most favorite people.
