Best Starts for Kids: Next Steps for Out-of-School Time Funding Opportunity (Southeast Seattle, August 1)
Through Best Starts for Kids (BSK), King County is forging a new way of partnering within and engaging communities to identify priorities and strategies to promote healthier, more resilient children, youth, families, and communities. Increasing access to quality out-of-school time programming is one of the BSK strategies to work toward the vision of putting every child and youth in King County on a path toward lifelong success.
King County has contracted with School’s Out Washington (SOWA) to provide administration oversight and planning for the RFP process, grantmaking, and implementation management for the BSK out-of-school time investment area. To do this well, SOWA is requesting continued engagement from OST stakeholders across King County to help shape a procurement and implementation process that will result in increased access to high-quality out-of-school-time programs for King County’s children and youth.
Consistent with all of the BSK investments, SOWA seeks to hear from and support organizations that are reflective of and embedded in the communities they serve, recognizing and addressing the disparities and disproportionality that exists in our communities.
In partnership with Southeast Seattle Education Coalition, SOWA invites you to join us for a presentation and feedback conversation on our draft Request for Proposal and implementation plan for BSK Out-of-School time investments.
This is a free event, snacks will be provided. Translation services available with advanced request.
