STARS Credits: 3
Join Grow Through the Arts to explore WHY you work with youth, your superpowers and kryptonite as an educator/mentor, and how to implement your unique vision in your program. Learn from others’ strengths and strategies to make your classroom environment more successful.
This series of 3 three-hour workshops will attune you to your own motivation and vision as an educator/mentor, outfit you with creative and practical classroom tools, and connect you more fully with your students. Participants will learn through theatre and movement activities as well as guided journaling, partner sharing, and full group discussion. Come prepared to move and explore!
Workshop three helps you discover where your challenges come from, and gives you practical tools for a healthy classroom environment, for you and your students. Please note, Grow Through the Arts Educator Series sessions one and two are prerequisites for Environments and Biases.
- Reflect on the environmental factors which impact you and your students.
- Uncover your own biases, and make concrete plans to counteract their impact in your program.
- Learn and share teaching tools which help students feel safe, welcome and empowered, and foster increased creativity.
