Grow Through the Arts 1: Purpose and Superpowers (Seattle, Sep 12)

Join Grow Through the Arts to explore WHY you work with youth, your superpowers and kryptonite as an educator/mentor, and how to implement your unique vision in your program. Learn from others’ strengths and strategies to make your classroom environment more successful.

This series of 3 three-hour workshops will attune you to your own motivation and vision as an educator/mentor, outfit you with creative and practical classroom tools, and connect you more fully with your students. Participants will learn through theatre and movement activities as well as guided journaling, partner sharing, and full group discussion. Come prepared to move and explore!

Workshop one prepares you to investigate the deeper challenges of working with youth, which are addressed in workshops two and three.

Objectives

  • Highlight and share your skills and talents as an educator/mentor
  • Reflect on your highest values in the classroom and put them into practice
  • Set intentions for how you’d like to “show up” with students and colleagues and grow into the educator you want to be
