Emotion Coaching/Learning Community Meeting Hybrid (BSK, Seattle, Jan 28)

Learning is both social and emotional. When big feelings arise in the youth we work with during our programs, how do we support them in relating to those feelings in ways that are empowered and constructive? This workshop focuses on strategies that help practitioners integrate emotion management skills and practices into their programs and in the ways they interact with youth. We will focus on ways to encourage relating to others with acceptance and sensitivity to diverse perspectives and experiences, as well as staff practices that support the ability to constructively handle both positive and challenging emotions.

This session is a combination of a Methods training and a Learning Community Meeting. Participants will attend a training, and then deepen understanding and strategy by having a Learning Community Meeting immediate thereafter. Learn new skills, plan for implementation, and share learning with Best Starts cohort peers!
